Analyst and Associate Interns - London

Candidate Profile

We’re offering two remote internships this summer for an analyst and an associate position for candidates that:

  • Are passionate and curious about technology and start-ups
  • Are driven self-starters comfortable with taking ownership
  • Have strong analytical and communication skills
  • Analyst: Have strong research, critical thinking and Excel/modelling skills 
  • Associate: Have minimum 3 years of experience working at tech startup, consulting, investment banking or venture capital/private equity
  • Nice-to-haves: Technical degree/background, coding, investment or entrepreneurial experience

Investment Associate - London

Octopus Ventures is one of Europe’s largest venture capital funds, with £1.2 billion under 
management. We’re based in London and New York with Venture Partners in San Francisco, 

Singapore and China. 

Our Investment Associates are core to our investment team, helping to identify, select and due 

diligence the most exciting startups from across the UK ecosystem as well as support the growth of 

our portfolio companies.  

We are specifically looking for an Investment Associate to join our Future of Health pod. This group 
invests in pioneering health companies, from next generation digital health platforms to emerging 
technologies in the lab. Our health team has the aim to be the first investors into companies that go 
on to be category defining in healthcare. 

Investment Analyst - London

Pi Labs is the first and most active Venture Capital Proptech firm in Europe, with 46 portfolio companies. We are a small team and are looking to add one person to the investment team. Ideally, aiming to hire in the near future but will take the time needed to find our next team member.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Source (50%): the core part of your role will be to build deal flow through own network, events, research, etc to find the best founders building amazing products that digitally transform the real estate sector.
  • Assess (30%): conduct initial screening by meeting founding teams, to gain a full understanding of their products & business models and debrief with the Investment Team.
  • Support (20%): support the Investment Team in managing the portfolio, collaborating on in-house research, and other ad-hoc work.

Qualifications

You will have 2-3 years of work experience and crucially will be able to demonstrate how you developed the above mentioned qualities so far.

Venture Capital Intern - Berlin

Venture Capital Associate - Berlin

Summer Intern - Cambridge

Amadeus Capital Partners is offering a 6-8 week internship for one student based at our Cambridge office, with a start date in July 2020.

This internship will provide great insight into the venture capital industry and you will learn about investment decision making by attending management and review meetings. The role will report into an Analyst within our Investment Team and whilst based in Cambridge, occasional travel to our London office may be required.

The internship will cover statistical analysis focused projects including, for example; to analyse funds historic returns by investment and model the distribution of returns compared to our expectations at the time of investment. Your analysis will segment investments across a number of variables, such as stage and sector, in order to analyse a risk-adjusted accuracy. The output of this project will be a risk model which provides a weighting profile which can be applied to project returns of current and future investments. The internship will culminate with a presentation to the Investment team on your findings.

Summer Internship Programme - London

Force Over Mass is a venture capital firm focused on early stage technology investments. We
invest in Seed, Series A and Series B.

For the internship programme, you will help the investment team with sourcing, analysing and
structuring new deals, research market trends and consult the existing portfolio in their quest
for growth. Responsibilities include:

– Explore new deals on events from incubators, accelerators, investor fairs, etc.
– Research, identify and source new means to attract deal flow
– Draw trend insights from our internal deal source databases
– Research and report on relevant technological trends
– Conduct due diligence on various aspects of the business: product / service, market
analysis, competitive position & defensibility, current traction, financial performance &
projections, and team background
– Analyse term sheets and provide advice on how they could be optimally structured
– Consult and support portfolio companies
– Assist in the day-to-day management of the firm
