The Lean Startup: How to Launch a Business

June 28, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Join us for the second event in our EF Startup Series, a series of discussions guiding you from the initial step of taking the leap into the start-up world all the way to how to successfully scale your business and what the future of technology looks like.

On Thursday 28th June Entrepreneur First, in collaboration with Diversity VC, will host an intimate panel to discuss what it actually takes to launch a business.

We’ll be asking questions like:

How did you know that there was a market for your product?

How did you get your very first customer over the line?

How different is your company now to what you thought it would be when you first started?

Our speakers include but are not limited to:

Matt Clifford (CEO and co-founder of EF). Matt co-founded EF after being a consultant at McKinsey & Co. Entrepreneur First invests in the world’s most ambitious individuals to help them build deep technology startups from scratch in London and Singapore. Since 2011, Entrepreneur First has created over 120 startups worth almost a billion dollars. Prior to EF Matt spent his time studying at MIT fuelled by an obsession with R, Python and unusual datasets.

Oliver Kent-Braham (Co-founder of Marshmallow). Oliver is a co-founder of Marshmallow, which is a tech-first insurer that is using global data sources and a proprietary pricing algorithm to offer cheaper car insurance to foreign-born drivers. Incumbent insurers charge these drivers 50% more than UK born drivers. Prior to Marshmallow, Oliver was one of the first 10 employees at Yoti seeing the company grow to almost 200 employees and a $100m valuation.
