Investment Associate - London

Established in 2012, we invest in companies with a digital mindset and the tenacity to transform their industry. With over € 460M of assets under management, we start with Seed and Series A investments of € 1M to € 7M. To ensure continuous support we reserve up to € 15M for future rounds.

We are looking for:

An Investment Associate for our A-Team. Currently the investment team is a team of 8 and we’re looking to hire new associates in both Berlin and London. We are looking for someone who has a passion for technology, entrepreneurship & learning, and will be eager to find the best founders in Europe through in-depth research and analysis.

Which traits contribute to your success?

  • Being a graduates from a top tier university, at either a graduate or postgraduate level (academic backgrounds in STEM, especially Computer Science or Machine Learning are a big plus)
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with multiple data sources, informational ambiguity and deriving informed outputs from this
  • Strong communications skills, with an ability to present clearly and concisely to a large group
  • Previous experience in a startup or technology company preferred, though consulting, banking and research will also be considered
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are absolutely required (additional languages are a big plus)

 

Analyst - London

The Craftory is not another consumer venture capital fund. Trad VC is done. We are Cause
Capital. Based in London and San Francisco, The Craftory is a $375M global investment house
focused exclusively on amplifying the world’s boldest consumer brands.

The Craftory is looking for an Analyst to help find new investment opportunities and to evaluate
individual companies by conducting business and financial analysis from their discovery through
due diligence to post-investment portfolio performance reporting. Analysts at The Craftory need
strong and flexible skills in both data and financial analysis, working both to maintain the flow of
brands through The Craftory’s pipeline and also upon dedicated projects to evaluate individual
categories or brands or to enhance our data-handling capabilities.

Experience and skills
● At least 2 years of professional experience ideally within start-ups, banking or
consultancy
● Investing and deal experience is helpful, but not necessary
● Educated to degree level in a financial, analytical, technical subject, or the recipient of
very demonstrable in-house training in data and financial analysis
● Advanced user of Excel / Google Sheets
● Good knowledge of PowerBI and DAX (or close alternative) with SQL proficiency

Venture Capital Intern - London

Playfair Capital is one of Europe’s leading early-stage VC funds. We’ve been investing since 2013 and have backed over 60 startups to date. Your main responsibilities will be to work collaboratively with the investment team to:

  • Attend (virtual) demo days, pitching competitions, industry events to network and build relationships with experts in the ecosystem in order to find the best deals
  • Filter and evaluate deal opportunities through a detailed due diligence process
  • Support the founders of our portfolio companies in building their businesses

You’ll also have the opportunity to lead projects such as deep diving into sectors or technologies that you find particularly interesting and producing reports for our investment team. Associate with a Focus on Fintech Seed investments - Berlin

Your Responsibilities

  • Research & Due Diligence (60%): The bulk of your work will be assisting live deals with research and due diligence.
  • Dealflow work (30%): The second part of your work consists of managing dealflow on an ongoing basis.
  • Internal materials (10%): A smaller chunk of your work will be preparing internal and external materials.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with an excellent academic track record (technical degree is a plus, e.g. Engineering)

Investment Analyst - London

Pi Labs is the first and most active Venture Capital Proptech firm in Europe, with 46 portfolio companies. We are a small team and are looking to add one person to the investment team. Ideally, aiming to hire in the near future but will take the time needed to find our next team member.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Source (50%): the core part of your role will be to build deal flow through own network, events, research, etc to find the best founders building amazing products that digitally transform the real estate sector.
  • Assess (30%): conduct initial screening by meeting founding teams, to gain a full understanding of their products & business models and debrief with the Investment Team.

Summer Intern - Cambridge

Amadeus Capital Partners is offering a 6-8 week internship for one student based at our Cambridge office, with a start date in July 2020.

This internship will provide great insight into the venture capital industry and you will learn about investment decision making by attending management and review meetings. The role will report into an Analyst within our Investment Team and whilst based in Cambridge, occasional travel to our London office may be required.

The internship will cover statistical analysis focused projects including, for example; to analyse funds historic returns by investment and model the distribution of returns compared to our expectations at the time of investment. Your analysis will segment investments across a number of variables, such as stage and sector, in order to analyse a risk-adjusted accuracy. The output of this project will be a risk model which provides a weighting profile which can be applied to project returns of current and future investments. The internship will culminate with a presentation to the Investment team on your findings.

Summer Internship Programme - London

Force Over Mass is a venture capital firm focused on early stage technology investments. We
invest in Seed, Series A and Series B.

For the internship programme, you will help the investment team with sourcing, analysing and
structuring new deals, research market trends and consult the existing portfolio in their quest
for growth. Responsibilities include:

– Explore new deals on events from incubators, accelerators, investor fairs, etc.
