Associate – Fintech Team (London, Berlin or Paris)

We are looking to expand our Fintech Team and are hiring an ASSOCIATE!

About the Position

You will play an active role in building our relationship with founders and helping them from the beginning to the end of the investment journey.

You will be responsible for trend scouting, deal sourcing, and due diligence for investment opportunities. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in engaging existing portfolio companies and in providing them with operational support, working on their ideas and supporting them with your “can-do” attitude.

Your Responsibilities

  • Source and screen seed fintech companies relevant to our investment hypothesis
  • Perform in-depth commercial and financial due diligence
  • Build complex financial models and perform company valuations
  • Prepare summary materials and present investment recommendations in deal meetings
  • Actively monitor portfolio companies and help with key strategic projects, including fundraising and business development
  • Represent Speedinvest at conferences and events
  • Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Finance or Economics
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced work environment (such as a startup, VC, PE, Consulting, IB), prior startup or VC experience is a big plus
  • Exceptional numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Previous exposure to Fintech and demonstrated interest in the latest technological developments and working with startups
  • An ability to build and maintain a professional network in the European tech ecosystem
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluency in French and English, German is a plus

Research & Strategy Internship

Responsibilities:

  • Support EIP’s European strategy team by working on a research project.
  • Conduct research on a cleantech sector by reviewing market research, understanding market trends, identifying innovative companies and assessing technologies.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with start-ups and other market participants to understand the technology landscape and emerging business models.

  • Tie it all together in a PPT-based report with insights for EIP and our partners.

Investment Analyst - New York

Illuminate Financial is a fintech venture capital fund based in New York, London and Singapore. We invest in early stage enterprise fintech start-ups and help them scale by providing them access to our deep industry network and domain expertise. 

We are looking for an analyst to join our New York-based investment team. This is a full-time opportunity in our New York office. The team is excited to return to a hybrid working model between our TriBeCa offices and working from home. In-line with US government guidance the team expects to continue working fully remotely in the near future.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Technology Specialist to join our Portfolio Success team and help build the ’technological’ resilience of our early stage fintech companies. As the resident Technology Specialist, you will be working directly with founders who we have invested in at a pre-seed or seed stage via our investment vehicles.   • Providing strategic support to founders and CTOs – assisting portfolio companies through their growing pains and greenfield development. This could include:

– Advising on fintech startup technology strategy, processes and architecture

– Advising on engineering team build

– Interviewing CTOs, VP Engineering / Tech Lead candidates portfolio companies are hiring for

  • Working closely with our Product Lead to provide strategic support on product and process

Investment Associate - Female Innovators Lab

Anthemis is at the center of a vibrant ecosystem of startups and financial institutions dedicated to reinventing financial services for the digital world. 

We’re seeking a London-based Investment Associate to add to our venture building team. The successful candidate will be supporting a vehicle focused on female founders in the fintech space. 

Female Innovators Lab Vehicle Description

Anthemis’ Female Innovators Lab vehicle is focused on supporting female pre-seed companies and entrepreneurs. We will look to work with top tier women or companies who are in the early stages of developing an idea/business in the financial services industry, but aren’t quite sure how to begin and need support in terms of human and financial capital. 

  • Assist the investment team in analyzing early stage technology companies. Typical reviews will include analysis on market sizing, assessment of technology, understanding of business model and product/service, competitive positioning, regulatory and execution risks and reviews of founding teams.
  • Assist in the due diligence of new transactions and prepare internal documentation to support the investment decision-making process.
  • Build and maintain a deep network in the UK and European VC ecosystem.
  • Extract and synthesize ongoing research and track relevant trends and developments across the financial services industry.
  • Attend relevant industry conferences and events, scan the market for potential investment opportunities and contribute to the overall dealflow sourcing.
  • Track, manage and update dealflow in Anthemis investment databases, and prepare periodic dealflow reports.

Investment Associate - Early Stage Venture

Anthemis is a venture investment platform founded on three guiding principles: authentic collaboration, virtuous cycle outcomes, and diversity and inclusivity. 

Due to the increasing growth of our investment portfolio, we are looking to hire an Investment Associate to support the team with the increasing workload. The Investment Associate role will involve working to support the New York investment team in everything from sourcing, diligence, deal execution and portfolio management. Primary responsibilities of the Investment Associate will involve supporting the flagship Anthemis Fund (Anthemis Venture Fund), which focuses on Pre-Seed, Seed and Series A deals across the US and Europe, as well as our Female Innovators Lab vehicle which is focused on supporting female Pre-Seed companies and entrepreneurs. 

As part of this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing robust pipeline of early stage deal flow and ecosystem connectivity (founders, investors, industry players, etc.) to support Anthemis Venture Fund and Female Innovators Lab deal funnel.
  • Assisting in the due diligence of new transactions and prepare internal documentation to support the investment decision-making process. This includes possessing ‘hard skills’ associated with deal diligence and execution, and an intimate understanding of the mechanics behind venture capital.
  • Attending relevant industry conferences and events, developing deep relationships with the fintech ecosystem in a way to enrich the Anthemis brand and expand connectivity.
  • Tracking, managing and updating dealflow in Anthemis investment databases, and prepare periodic dealflow reports.

Senior Associate

Key Responsibilities

Investments
• Assisting with all aspects of driving deals to completion including conducting basic due diligence on potential investees and working with our legal partners to coordinate the execution of legal documentation.

Professional Experience
